Greenwashing

Since sustainable has become increasingly popular, quite a few brands venture into greenwashing, as it is called. Do you sometimes doubt the sustainability of a particular brand or product? Well, say goodbye to tough choices!

Oxfam has been committed to fair trade for more than 50 years. Trade that serves people and the environment, not the other way around. What started in 1971 with coffee from Tanzania and cane sugar from Cuba, is today a wide range of more than 200 fair trade products. All of which prove that different trade is possible. More even! Oxfam double-checks for you. A fair wage? Check. Climate-friendly and good for the planet? Double-check. Because fair lasts the longest.

Our coffee ticks all the boxes

Our coffee is a strong example. With the fair trade premium, the coffee partners invest in the future. They build schools, hospitals and coffee plantations with extra trees: fruit and shade trees provide extra income, protect the coffee bush from the impact of climate change and remove more CO2 from the air. In Congo, 10,000 additional trees are planted every year.
