A system where profit and low prices come first, while producers are unable to earn a living income and farmland becomes depleted? We refuse to accept that as the norm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more than 50 years, we have been working to show that another way is possible. Not only by addressing the consequences, but also by challenging the rules that perpetuate inequality. By trading differently and advocating for structural change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That means thinking long term. Coffee and chocolate don\u2019t start on a supermarket shelf. They start with people and with the soil. If we want to continue enjoying good coffee and chocolate tomorrow, coffee and cocoa farmers need to be able to make a living from their work, while farmland needs to become more resilient to a changing climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why we buy directly wherever possible, build long-term relationships with our trading partners and invest together in areas such as living incomes, agroecology and strengthening the position of women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ambition also requires honesty<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxfamfairtrade.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/OFT-sustainability-report-2025.pdf\">2025 Sustainability Report<\/a><\/strong>, we take stock. What have we achieved? Where are we making progress? And just as importantly: where are we not yet where we want to be?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because being ambitious doesn\u2019t mean we have already achieved everything. We meet some of our targets, while others are behind schedule. We want to be transparent about that too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For us, a sustainability report is therefore not an administrative box-ticking exercise or a collection of impressive figures. It is a way to scrutinise our choices, be transparent about our impact and keep challenging ourselves to do better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-default\">We are proud of where we want to go.
